Tamang Heritage Trail in Nepal


Nepal is a nation between China and India, in South Asia. It is a huge outdoor adventure playground with some of the best trekking trails in the world. Tamang Heritage Trail is a trekking course developed in Nepal. This trial that is hiking is near Kathmandu, which is the capital city of Nepal and the first city that you visit when you come here. It takes about 7-8 hours from Kathmandu to reach the starting point of the trek. 

The trek ends and starts at the same place that is Syabrubesi. This trek provides the trekkers the opportunity to be aware of the Tamang community's and their culture, along with the perspective of natural beauties at various aspects. The trekkers can also take pleasure in the healing baths on their way.

The locals of this trekking course largely belong to the Tamang community. It is said that the Tamang’s would be the people visiting Nepal for settlement. It is thought that the ancestors of those current days' Tamang people were the sect individuals who flew from Tibet to live in Nepal. They then changed their Tibetan caste into Tamang and started staying in Nepal permanently. The culture and customs of the Tamang people residing with this trail resemble that of the Tibetan people living across the Nepal - China border. Lhosar is celebrated by community people living on and near this trekking trail. 

The other important festivals are Buddha Jayanti, Dashain, and Tihar. They enjoy the festivals by doing a dance called 'Selo'. The instruments named as'Dhampu' are performed with the gents of the Tamang community whereas the dancing is performed by women and children’s. Trekkers trekking with this season for this course taste the various different cuisine of Tamang community as well as they can also enjoy the fun of Selo dance.

During this trek, the trekkers can enjoy a wonderful view of Langtang ranges too since they can enjoy the wonderful scenes of the forests covered with reddish Rhododendron blossoms which are also the national flower of Nepal. Blooming on this trail's hills make the hills appear reddish, which becomes even more attractive. All these help to make the trek more beautiful and more satisfying. The trek is short and not is a trekking course in comparison with other treks and is hard as well. Thus, this trek will certainly suit each trekker. This area was formerly enlisted before but has been recently opened.

Since the trail moves across the Tamang village the trekkers have the opportunity to enjoy a social life with the local people. They're also able to interact with the friendly and hospitable locals and learn their new way of life, languages, culture, tradition, etc... It's not always the tourists who learn, the locals too get the chance to learn new ideas, tourist's society, their culture, etc as well. Interactions and the closeness between the local people and the tourists bring the chance of eradicating orthodox as well as superstitious behavior from the culture.
