In May 2007, the team set their"Mission Everest" Base Camp having trekked using their heavy equipment to an elevation of 4400 metres in Nepal. Together with three hours' worth of fuel, good weather and oxygen, Bear and Gilo introduced themselves into the air.

They were spiralling than that capable from the camera helicopter which was following their progress. The cameras onboard the paragliders showed a breathtaking sight of a ribbon of blue skies merging into the blackness of space above, which in the heights they reached they could see even though it was daytime.

After two minutes of flying upwards, when he had been sure he had succeeded, Bear turned his engine off and glided down through the stunning mountain landscape that makes special trekking. The strategy was to corroborate their elevation using a global positioning system and altimeters; regrettably , they found in the thin atmosphere and high-temperature temperatures, their tools froze when they were about four miles above the Mission Everest Base Camp.

Although the reading before they froze the instruments took revealed that Bear, by 1524 metres, had surpassed the paragliding document in 7621 metres and still climbed, the record cannot be official with no legitimate reading in the altimeter. Nonetheless, is clear what Bear had achieved in the machine of Gilo. The images from the cameras showed the height of Mount Everest had cleared, along with the group estimated he had reached about 150 metres higher. This took him above 3640 metres greater compared to Everest Base Camp (that is more than two kilometers ) and nearly five miles above sea level.
